Healthy Peninsula’s Walk-In Café opened in April 2022, out-of-doors, just behind the First Congregational Church in Blue Hill.

Starting the Café was in response to an often-heard request by peninsula residents, especially older community members who were particularly isolated during COVID, for a safe place to meet with friends to share conversation and food.  An anonymous donation to Healthy Peninsula helped the Café grow from a small idea into a treasured gathering that many attendees say is the highlight of their week. The Café meets outside near the entrance to Blue Hill Heritage Trust’s Murphy Trail until cold weather, when moves inside the Church to Jonathan Fisher Hall. The Café meets every Wednesday from 10:00 to 11:30 am and serves a variety of baked goods as well as fruits, vegetables, cheese, and crackers. Coffee, tea, and cold drinks are also available. The Walk-In Café is sponsored by HP in partnership with Friends in Action, the First Congregational Church, and Blue Hill Heritage Trust.
