kids planting at garden camp

Garden Camp

Garden Camp is a collaborative program run with peninsula elementary schools that offers students a free, fun, and active way to learn how to grow their own food at school gardens and greenhouses and then prepare what they've grown. These activities provide students with basic culinary knowledge and the lifelong skills that support self-sufficiency and healthy lifestyles. Justine Appel and Anna Wind pioneered this project at the Brooksville Elementary School with support from Principal Cammie Fowler and the Maine Farmland Trust in 2017.
