In becoming the office manager at Healthy Peninsula, I’m returning to my social-service roots after many years away. In the mid-’70s, I began pounding the streets in Wenatchee, WA, as an outreach worker for a senior citizen center, and ultimately became a program manager in one of the first area agencies on aging in that state.
Since moving to Brooksville in 1998, I’ve worked in various capacities at Buck’s Harbor Market, a job I will continue on a part-time basis because I love seeing my friends and neighbors come through the door. When we moved from Washington State to Maine, my husband Lee and I took the long route—we sailed west until we bumped into New England.
I’m grateful to have the opportunity and the ability to support the staff, the advisory board, and the initiatives of Healthy Peninsula.
