The first step in our Age-Friendly Coastal Communities project, a joint venture between Healthy Peninsula, AARP Maine, Healthy Island Project, and the town governments of Blue Hill, Brooklin, Brooksville, Castine, Deer Isle, Penobscot, Sedgwick, Surry, and Stonington, is to invite the community to answer some questions about what our region needs to make it easy for our elders to stay safe, happy, and healthy. A survey has been mailed to a random sample of community members and is also available at different events throughout the area. The more responses we get, the better information we will have as we begin to work on plans to overcome obstacles that have been discovered and encourage the good things that are already going on. Surveys can be returned to: Healthy Peninsula, P.O. Box 945, Blue Hill, ME 04614.
