Prior to accepting this position, I worked for 25 years as a Licensed Medical Social Worker providing community-based long term care and chronic disease support in the homes and medical practices of patients across Hancock and Washington Counties.
My extensive time with families “in the field” greatly contributes to my belief that it takes the embrace and understanding of the total community to see that all members, from our youngest to our most senior have the opportunity to thrive. I believe that the work that Healthy Peninsula does – listening to the concerns and interests of people who live and work in the Blue Hill and Deer Isle region and connecting those concerns with organizations, agencies and interested community members – creates the opportunity for positive change and improved wellbeing.
It is a privilege to be part of a community-wide team that supports, educates and encourages folks to live in the safest and healthiest ways.
